We are living in an age of surging income inequality. Particularly those at the very top and everyone else. Changes that are slow and gradual can be hard to notice. As income equality increases social mobility decreases. This is what worries me the most is the extent to which those same largely positive forces are which are driving the rise of the global plutocracy also appear to be hollowing out the middle class in western industrialized economies. Lets start with technology those same forces that are creating billionaires are also devouring traditional middle class jobs and in contrast with the industrial revolution the titans of our new economy aren't creating that many new jobs. At it's zenith G.M. employed hundreds of thousands. Facebook fewer than ten thousand. The same is true of globalization for all that it is.
Raising hundreds of millions out of poverty in the emerging markets it is also out sourcing thousands of jobs out of the western economies. The terrifying reality is that there is no economic rule which automatically translates increased economic growth into widely shared prosperity. That is shown in what I consider to be the most scary economic statistics of our time. Since the late 1990's increases in productivity have been decoupled from increases in wages and employment. That means that our countries are getting richer, our companies are getting more efficient but we are not creating more jobs One scary conclusion you could draw from all this is to worry about structural unemployment. What worries me more is a different nightmare scenario. After all in a totally free labor market we could find jobs for pretty much everyone.
The utopia that worries me is a universe in which a few geniuses invent Google and it's ilk ant the rest of us are employed giving them massages. So when I get really depressed about all of this I comfort myself in thinking about the industrial revolution after all for all it's grime satanic mills it worked out pretty well didn't it. After all of us here are richer, healthier, taller and live longer than our ancestors. But it is important to remember that before we learned how to share the roots of the industrial revolution with the broad swaths of society. We had to go through two depressions two world wars communist revolutions in Russia and china and an era of tremendous social and political upheaval in the west. Today we are living through an era of economic transformation comparable in it's scale and its scope to the industrial revolution. To be sure that this new economy benefits us all and not just the plutocrats we need to embark on an era of comparably ambitious social and political change. We need a new "New Deal"

So, we are aware of the court decision. We have discussed it with the Prime Minister, with cabinet colleges, with senior government officials and experts. We respect respect very much Canada's independent Judiciary, however we do not agree with this decision.
The evidence is absolutely clear that vaccines are safe. They prevent the spread of Covid-19. They significantly reduce the number of cases and most importantly they save lives. We are announcing two strong new mandatory vaccine measures. Federal public servants in the core public administration must be fully vaccinated by October 29th. Members of the public service that are not fully vaccinated or do not disclose their vaccination status by October 29th will be placed on administrative leave without pay. The bottom line? Proof of vaccination will be required no later than the end of this month for all federal employees. Mandatory vaccination on travel. Everyone 12 or older on a train or plane in Canada should be fully vaccinated if you want to fly you will have to be fully vaccinated.
You have sold us out to globalism. You are not working for Canada. You are working for your globalist partners. I wonder how much they are paying you to betray Canada?
