With surveillance people could look back in a hundred years and identify the corona virus epidemic as the moment when a new regime of surveillance took over especially surveillance under the skin. I think this is the most important development of the twenty first century,this ability to hack human beings, to go under the skin and collect biometric data, analyze it and understand people better than they understand themselves. You know the whole idea that humans you know have this sole or spirit and they have free will and nobody knows what is happening inside me, so what ever I choose during the election or in the super market that this is my free will, those days are over. Today we have the ability to hack humans on a massive scale. Everything is being digitized and monitored.
Earth will be populated or even dominated by entities that are not organic,they don't breath, don't have emotions. The potential of AI is much much bigger than any historical revolution it is a biological revolution. For four billion years all life was organic AI is a completely different kind of intelligence. The biggest question about the future is whether we will have super intelligent beings without any conciseness dominating the planet or whether we will have artificial consciousness at present a far more frightening scenario is we will have super intelligence without conciseness computers will become more intelligent than us, far more intelligent with out having any feelings, any emotions, and they will dominate.
The most important thing about living in the 21st century is that humans are now hackable animals. To hack a human being means & to understand that human better than he or she understands themselves,. Which was never possible in history before on a massive scale I mean on an individual level my mother at least until a certain age new me better than I new myself and that was good because her interests were aligned with mine. It is much worse if there is a corporation or a government rather than a parent knows you better than you know yourself. If this falls into the hands of a 21st century Stalin the result is the worst totalitarian regime in history and we already have a number of applicants. Homo sapiens are now acquiring technologies that can either destroy us or upgrade us but will not leave us as we are.
As a gay man it is crucial to know the difference between stories invented by humans and reality. The same ability is also crucial for scientific research. When I was young I was told all boys are attracted to girls and I believed it. It took me a long time to realize that this is just a story invented by humans and that the reality is that some boys love other boys and I was one of them. It is a great wisdom to accept reality as it is. Even if it contradicts what most people believe. Similarly many people say that there is a great big man in the sky who gets very angry if two men love each other But it is just another imaginary story people & invented. If two men love one anther and they don't harm anyone shat could possible be wrong with that? No big man in the sky becomes angry about it.
